The Key to Confidence is Hidden Inside Your Mirror
The less common ending: The girl, now a woman, beats the odds and changes her story. Lisa McCarthy, the inventor of the Affirmations Mirror, did just that. She rose from the ashes of her childhood and found strength within to make her dreams come true.
Lisa embraced the practice of affirmations—positive, uplifting statements that when regularly repeated become a belief. So, where she had been told she was worthless, she told herself that she was worthy of love and good things. Over time, this belief took hold and she had newfound confidence to make positive changes in her life.
Among these changes was starting her own company, MeyeVU Interactive, to bring the Affirmations Mirror to market. The Affirmations Mirror speaks to the user in his or her own voice the affirmations that will lead to greater success and confidence. It’s a real-life mirror, mirror on the wall—but the user gets to decide what it says!
Lisa says, “Many of us face a huge challenge from the mirrors we look into. We look, but we don’t know how to see our own beauty or acknowledge ourselves. We have not been taught to provide any love or encouragement to ourselves, only to others. Looking in the Affirmations Mirror and hearing exactly what you need to hear is a revolution in the practice of affirmations.” No matter how many other people see your beauty and strength, no amount of praise or compliment will ever get past your ears and into your heart and mind until you can see it for yourself.
Once you have built up your confidence, Lisa says, then you can determine what you want your life to be. She has devised a way to test it to make sure your goals really what you want. She suggests you use the following five “W” questions as a discovery tool for all the things you want in life:
1. What do I want?
2. Why do I want it?
3. What does it give me if I have what I want?
5. What actions can I take right now to take me towards that objective?
The HONEST answers to these hard questions about what we want will keep us motivated to go after our dreams--even if there are barriers – NO MATTER WHAT! Our mind and soul
must have the true answers to who, what, when, where, why, or when we have reached our dreams, we will not recognize it.
Lisa wants everyone to know that they are a gift to the world! Look in the mirror, find your confidence, and pursue your dreams.
